Last night, our inspiring CEO, Margot Micallef, spoke at a Calgary Chamber of Commerce event called Fast-Growth Champions: Leadership and Diversification. Margot was in great company, speaking alongside Lara Murphy, co-founder of Ryan Murphy Construction, and Phoebe Fung, owner of The Vin Room.
The event was sold out and for good reason: the inspiring entrepreneurs each have a strong track record of success. The more than 100 people in attendance heard insights from the panel on everything from how to build companies from scratch to how women are changing companies and whole industries.
If you weren’t able to snag a ticket, here were some of Margot’s insights:
“An economic downturn is an opportunity — an opportunity to be bold.”
“People aren’t so much interested in what you do but why you do it.”
“We focus on what the market wants. We really research that, and then we make products to give consumers what they want.”
Speaking of products, a few of us from the Gabriella’s Kitchen were able to attend and to hand out samples of our new skinnypasta SUPERFOOD Teff Penne to everyone in attendance. It was a great night and we were all thrilled to be a part of it!
We’ll let you know the next time Margot will be speaking, be it in Calgary or elsewhere. Stay tuned, and happy skinnypasta-making!
